ABOUT LAURIE MANAHAN, MS, M.Ed,
RD
PRESIDENT, YUMMY DESIGNS®
Laurie Manahan, MS, M.Ed, RD is President and Creative Director of Yummy Designs.
Laurie founded Yummy Designs in 1983 to develop innovative
nutrition education materials that “Make Nutrition
Fun.”
Since 1983, Laurie has written and designed over 100 nutrition
books, games, puppets, and other teaching materials that
make nutrition fun for children and adults. Laurie writes
and develops all Yummy Designs materials herself, so you
can be confident that they are professionally sound.
Laurie earned a Masters Degree in Public Health Nutrition
from Loma Linda University (CA). She has worked on several
nutrition education projects and served as a Nutritionist
with the Peace Corps in Morocco, North Africa. Laurie also
has a Masters Degree in Education from Indiana University.
She has been a Registered Dietitian (R.D.) with The American
Dietetic Association since 1976.
Laurie is well known and well respected among her professional
colleagues and customers throughout the country. Laurie
and her Yummy Designs products have been written about in
many nutrition journals, magazines, and newspapers. Yummy
Designs products are featured in 12 different national nutrition,
health, and school catalogs.
Laurie also designs promotional and educational materials
for companies and commissions. She writes a monthly
newspaper column about her local
Farmers Market. And she continues to design and introduce
new and innovative nutrition materials every year.
